Membership

All graduates are eligible for membership in the Nurses' Alumni Association and paid members of the Alumni Association have voting privileges in the Association.

The membership in the database is represented within the following parameters: 

  HONORARY LIFE MEMBERS:

• As per the Constitution, there are 10 members who are appointed by the Alumni Executive on the basis of their outstanding service to the Association or nursing profession.

   HONORARY MEMBERS:

• As per the Constitution, members may be appointed by a vote of the Executive Committee on any person who is interested in the Association and has conferred notable benefits to the Association.
• There is no restriction to the number of Honorary Members the Alumni may have.
• There are 17 Honorary members.

LIFE MEMBERS:

• Represents those who have either paid for a Life Membership or achieved Life Membership status automatically after reaching their Jubilee year.
• Life Membership dues are $200.00. When the 50 year graduation anniversary has been reached WGH/HSC graduates become Jubilee members and are no longer required to continue paying membership fees. [See Membership Application form for donation options].

CLASS REPRESENTATIVES:

• Represent      their respective Graduation classes. They maintain class lists, notify the      Alumni of a member’s illness or demise, and pass on messages to the      membership.
• They work      with the Alumni to inform the membership about dates and locations for      important events and they coordinate activities for their classmates.

JUBILEE MEMBERS:

• The class celebrating their 50th Anniversary for the current year. On attaining their 50th anniversary of graduation, membership without fee is automatic.

ANNUAL MEMBERS:

• Represents those who have paid for an Annual membership on or before September 30th of every year.
• Active membership dues are $25.00.

TOTAL NUMBERS:

• The current number for September 2018 is 1820 life members in the database.
• The total number of entries in the database can fluctuate slightly      from year to year based on duplication of names in some categories.

MEMBERSHIP CONVENOR:

• Corresponds with Members and Class Representatives to maintain the class lists.
• Sends out Membership cards when memberships are updated.

Time to Renew Your Membership?

Life Membership is automatic when you have paid the Life membership fee of $200 or when the 50 year anniversary of your graduation year has been reached (Jubilee Year). 

If you currently have Active/Life membership and you wish to donate to Alumni activities, it is essential that you identify your intended Fund. 

Membership fee amounts and donation options are identified below.
